The siddreye is a short jacket that fastens just under the breasts. This style of embroidered top may be embellished with hand work or the seamstress owner may cut the fabric into her size and then take to a machine embroidery artist in the local souk for decorative stitching. The siddreeye was more common in northern Syria, and is similar to styles worn in Turkey and the Balkans, through Bosnia. It's rarely seem in Palestinian traditional dress.

Another type of jacket is the waist-length taksira or 'shortened' jacket.
