In this drawing the artist Ziad Zokari has captured the triumphal arch from Palmyra (Tidmoor), along with the traditional dress from Harran al-'Awamid, which is located just southeast of Damascus.

This style of short jacket that ends just under the breasts is called a siddreye, or short jacket (literally ''chest' garment) and clearly indicates a Balkan influence. The European style fitted bodice with full skirt was known as thob el-shaz.

Both dress and jacket were sewn from silk woven in Aleppo, and worn with a woven belt from Hamma, sirwal pantaloons with pleated trim complete the outfit.
