Hama Drawing with Noria

Syria traditional clothing, dresses folk Hama, Hama Weiss-Armush

In this drawing Syrian artist Ziad Zokari captures various cultural elements from Hama:
- the noria water wheel that dates back to 1100 BC and is used for watering the gardens
- a Byzantian column (6th century)
- the traditional tied-dyed raw silk dress, worn here with an apron and short velvet jacket
- a silk headdress homsiyyeh cloth head turban, woven in neighboring Homs using gold threads.
